MC: Jason Mangan

With a successful career in the commercial technology sector, Jason moved into education as Director IT Services at the University of Auckland in July 2017.

He began his IT career working with IBM in London, moving to Orange Communications in Switzerland then to France Telecom and the world of leading business change.

Moving back to New Zealand in 2009 Jason worked at Vodafone, then Spark before stepping away from the telco world in 2015 to consult with a range of industries.

Jason is impressed with the talent and commitment of the IT teams at the University, and has embraced the world of academia and the challenges it presents.

Jason is a keen advocate for diversity in the workplace and strongly supports the Women in IT initiative.

His aspirations for the IT Services can be summarised in the IT BHAG he has introduced to be

“#1 Digital Services provider in the Higher Education Sector across Australasia”

Outside of work Jason has a passion for surfing and enjoys sharing his adventures with his 2 sons.
